Guided by the brand promise – Expanding possibilities, Momentum Credit sponsored the 2nd edition of the Maasai Mara UltraMARAthon, raising funds going into initiatives to preserve the iconic Northern Maasai Mara ecosystem and promote decent living within the Mara region. The Maasai Mara UltraMARAthon is an annual 50km single-day footrace through the conservancies of the northern Maasai Mara ecosystem. The race, run either as an individual or as part of a relay team, takes participants through several conservancies giving participants a unique sporting experience.
Momentum Credit, through Platcorp Foundation, is actively involved in the realization of a majority of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs are a call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity. By sponsoring this year's event, Momentum Credit has directly contributed to the SDGs with the funds raised going into improving living conditions within the Mara region. This will be realized through the expansion of the local health center and by facilitating better administration and occupational amenities for the rangers.
Momentum Credit sponsored the annual UltraMARAthon by sending a delegation of four relay runners each covering a 12.5 KM distance in the 50 KM footrace. Partnering with the Lemek, Olchoro and Enonkishu conservancies as well as the Mara Elephant Projects contributes towards the preservation of one of Kenya's key ecosystems – the Northern Maasai Mara. The partnership contributes towards the protection of our indigenous heritage, upholding our national patrimony for future generations and wildlife conservation. The rangers will, furthermore, receive adequate supply of equipment to augment administration and a better working environment.
